New part billed as the world’s fastest and smallest isolated RS-485 transceiver
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.—April 21, 2017—NVE Corporation (Nasdaq: NVEC) today introduced the IL3685-1E, an ultrahigh-speed galvanically isolated transceiver in NVE’s ultraminiature QSOP-16 package. The new part is billed as the world’s fastest and smallest isolated RS-485 transceiver.
Features include:
• 40 Mbps data rate
• PROFIBUS compliant
• 2500 VRMS isolation voltage
• 44000 year barrier life
• Low EMC footprint
• Thermal shutdown protection
• 4 mm by 5 mm low thermal resistance QSOP package
The new device uses NVE’s patented IsoLoop spintronic Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) technology. A unique ceramic/polymer composite barrier provides excellent isolation and virtually unlimited barrier life.
There are now ten members of NVE’s isolated digital transceiver family in various packages, including the unique QSOPs, the industry’s smallest isolated transceivers:
