Ethernity networks - Shenzhen TiCOMM Selects Ethernity Network’s FPGA-Based SD-WAN Platform
Ethernity’s FPGA SoC solution provides powerful, accelerated, cost effective SD-WAN and vCPE platform, ensuring high performance at reduced expense
Lod, Israel – Ethernity Networks (AIM: ENET.L), a leading supplier of data processing technology on programmable logic for high-end Carrier Ethernet applications and data processing offload, announced today that its low cost FPGA-based telco edge cloud platform has been selected by Shenzhen TiCOMM, a Chinese SD-WAN solution provider.
The innovative platform will be used as a combined Network Interface Device (NID) and SD-WAN gateway solution. The system-on-chip (SoC), featuring both an array of powerful ARM CPUs and an FPGA in a single, low-cost programmable platform, will be equipped with 10G interfaces, Carrier Ethernet functions, IPSec, and ARM processors for SD-WAN software. The platform can be packaged as a standalone device or can be installed as a SmartNIC on any standard server. The solution supports 10G IPSec and 20G Carrier Ethernet switching and routing throughput.
The solution will be jointly showcased by Ethernity and TiCOMM at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona between the 26th of February and the 1st of March 2018 at Hall 2 stand 2K63.
“Ethernity’s NIC-in-NID, powered by Ethernity’s ENET flow processing technology, is a natural match with TiCOMM’s SD-WAN solution architecture,” said Mr. Liu Yu, CEO of Shenzhen TiCOMM. “The performance and features fit the requirements of SD-WAN very well. Ethernity’s NIC-in-NID reduces the time-to-market of TiCOMM’s solution and improves our cost efficiency as well. It’s a very powerful solution enabler for TiCOMM.”
TiCOMM’s SD-WAN solution reduces WAN expenditures, improves the quality of interconnections, and extends coverage scope with a secure, simple, fast service. It provides a real-time view of the network, dynamic optimal path selection, and an intuitive OAM management interface. By using Ethernity’s FPGA- and ARM-based platform, TiCOMM will benefit from a low-cost, high-capacity, yet fully programmable solution compared to x86 servers, resulting in higher throughput and lower expenses. Nonetheless, the platform is still able to connect to external servers to access even greater computing resources through the embedded NIC function.

Ethernity’s patented ENET technology resolves the challenges of carrier-grade performance in virtualized networks.
An architecture that attaches one or more All Programmable ACE-NICs via PCIe to a COTS server allows the integration of Carrier Ethernet MEF-compliant networking and routing, security and tunnelling offload into modern virtualized software platforms. [Ataitec] Ataitec 新品發布 - introduces In Situ De-Embedding (ISD)If you ever need to do TRL calibration, you will find AtaiTec’s patent-pending In Situ De-embedding (ISD) technique most useful. Compared to more than seven test coupons on a TRL calibration board, ISD needs only one through trace. TRL requires that the calibration board and DUT test fixture have identical characteristic impedance, which is an impossible feat to achieve. In addition, TRL does not remove coupling among lead-in traces. The result is that the S parameters of DUT after TRL calibration are almost always non-causal and are difficult to correlate with simulation. ISD addresses all of these issues with a very simple procedure: (a) measure the through trace test coupon (which only needs to have similar, but not identical, behavior as the DUT test fixture); (b) measure DUT + test fixture; and (c) run ISD software.

High power 4 pair POE compliant to IEEE802.3btAs many of Silvertels customers are aware, the IEEE has been in the process of drafting a new Power over Ethernet standard, 802.3bt. This is a new higher power standard for delivering up to 71W at the PD over the full 4 pairs of wires in a CAT5E cable to improve efficiency and minimise losses at the higher power levels. This standard is now at Draft 3.0, to which release level Silvertel are preparing a new set of modules, the Ag6800 and Ag5800. Ag6800 will be a fully (draft) standards compliant 90W maximum output PSE module and will be released first, followed shortly after by the Ag5800 PD module delivering up to 71W of usable power to the end device. Both modules will be cost and footprint size optimised to provide state of the art solutions at market leading prices for our customers for the next generation of POE applications.

EOPTOLINK Technology Inc., Ltd (stock code: 300502.SZ) has announced the industry first 200G CWDM4 QSFP-DD optical module during CIOE 2017 and will do live demo in ECOC 2017. Eoptolink has been working closely with leading network and data-center solution providers and start sampling to customers.QSFP-DD 2x100G CWDM4 is using 8x25G NRZ DML technology, has doubled density of QSFP28, and fully complies with QSFP-DD and CWDM4 MSA. It targets data center for 2km application, and 10km version (2x4WDM-10) is also available. By using CS optical connector, it can be either two QSFP28 CWDM4 break-out or directly connected with another 200G QSFP-DD. The design can be easily moved to other form factor as well, for example OSFP.
This product is produced by Eoptolink 100G+ production platform with high density capability and automation. The platform is designed for high volume and low cost production for today’s 100G product and highly scalable for the coming 200G & 400G transceivers.
It adds to the portfolio of Eoptolink data center product line. Combining this product with QSFP28 CWDM4/CLR4, QSFP28 LR4 and QSFP28 4WDM-10, Eoptolink will provide up to date solutions to customers and continuously invest on R&D for new technologies.

It will allow customers requiring 24V at POE+ power levels to take advantage of the worlds smallest POE+ SIL package and footprint of the Ag5300 module. A further enhancement means Ag5324 is available as standard at industrial operating temperature specifications for operation between -40°C up to +85° Celcius.
